We will be meeting at the Red Dot on Mondays, 7-9pm, when not at the Hudson Opera House on (most) 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30pm to share our songs. All styles of music and performance and skill level welcome. We have semi-professional performers, many hobbyists who have been making music for lifetimes, and some folks who are just learning, or trying out a new instrument….. in other words, a wide variety of styles and art and skill can be found here. We are a friendly, welcoming group of folks who want to hear what you have!!! Come and share your stuff!!!
What can you expect? An Acoustic Jam is a group of people who take turns presenting a song/piece of work. The person leading the song/performance plays it alone or with collaboration from the rest of the group, in the key they wish. Unlike an Open Mic, and depending on your skill level, it is possible to play the whole evening, and you really will develop your ability to play with others ‘on the fly’. We also provide time for you to tell us about your next gig….. this is the spot to come to indulge your LOVE of music and other art with a community of like minded folks….
My vision is that the jam will be a place where skilled musicians are challenged and beginners are nurtured. Where the overall sound is important to the players, not just THEIR sound. Where folks can get feedback, both good and bad, and still feel their music is worth all the effort they give it..... AND where musicians have FUN!!!!! .... and meet new folks and new collaborations can develop.
